Diet Update – 2-18-10

I also posted this to the “Homeschool Moms Getting Healthy” Yahoo E-Group that we started….so you may have already read this…


Well….yesterday was a bad day.  Like I posted, my doctor told me that I gained a pound and need to lose 50-75 pounds (I thought it was only 50).  So, when I got home, I was mad….so I ate some King Cake….and some other stuff.  So….not a successful day.

Last night, I decided that I have to quit feeling sorry for myself.  So, I joined the online WW program so that I can log all of my points, look up recipes, get food lists, etc.  I’m going to try to share some of those with the group also.

My main problem is that I DON’T LIKE ANY FOODS THAT ARE GOOD FOR ME!!!  I don’t like any veggies, except potatoes and corn.  I don’t like any fruits except peaches (the kind in a can), oranges, tangerines, pineapple, and cherries.  I don’t like anything green (unless jelly beans and M & M’s count).  I’ve TRIED to make myself eat salad….used different types of dressings and different varieties of lettuce….but no luck.  I also don’t like wheat pasta.  So, I just have to find foods that I do like and control my portions, I guess.

Today, this is what I’ve had:
* Little Debbie 100 Calorie yellow Cake – 2 points
* Nature’s Own 100% Whole Wheat Bread, with 1 tsp Parkay  toasted – 1.5 points
* 10 oz Diet Dr. Pepper

* 1/2 sandwich made with whole wheat bread (above), Hillshire Farms Turkey, and longhorn colby cheese – 5 points
* 15 oz of water

* Orville Redenbacher’s Smart Pop 94% Fat Free Popcorn – 1 point
* 15 oz of water (drinking this now)

So far, I’ve had 9.5 points today….and I’m hungry!!!  I’ll probably make me a couple of pieces of toast in a little while….that will only be about 3 points.

For dinner, I was going to cook some grilled chicken strips….and something….not sure what….

I feel a bit discouraged because I don’t like anything in the recipes that I’m finding online….

Is it possible to drink TOO MUCH water?  I drink a LOT…like CONSTANTLY have a glass of water by me.

I need to go for a walk or get on the treadmill or wii fit.  But the treadmill does such a great job of collecting dust and serving as a clothes hanger…..
